The Michala Jane School of Dance teaches the syllabus and offers examinations of the International Dance Teachers’ Association (IDTA). As a fully qualified Member of the IDTA, Michala Jane has the knowledge, understanding and experience to encourage the very best from you. The importance of being taught by a qualified dance teacher can never be overstated; not only to enable you to gain qualifications, but to ensure pupils are taught correctly, safely and to a high standard.

The IDTA has developed a range of examinations suitable for all ages and levels of experience and achievement. The Michala Jane School of Dance offers examinations in Ballet, Tap, Freestyle and Theatrecraft.

A brief overview of the IDTA –
The International Dance Teachers’ Association is one of the world’s largest examination boards, covering the full spectrum of dance examinations on a global scale, with over 7,000 members in 55 countries. The Association celebrated its centenary in 2003.

The objectives of the Association are:
1. To promote knowledge and foster the art of dance in all its forms.
2. To consult.
3. To maintain and improve teaching standards.
4. To offer a comprehensive range of professional qualifications in all dance genres.
5. To provide and maintain syllabi and technique in all dance genres to train dance for the profession
